Episode 39. Chevrolet LUV WA54 HYP. (part 5).

The Chev-suzu still seems to be running well despite my earlier mis-hap at the fuel station. It would appear that putting Petrol into it has done it no harm at all, and it still runs like a champ! Anyway it was a slow day at work and so I spent the day giving my Dad a hand, in my little family having a pick up is very useful, especially when I need to help my Dad remove a tree from his back yard. For this type of mission it would probably be a heck of a lot easier without the 'Truckman' type top, and I like it without the top better anyway as I prefer my pick ups to be pick ups, as I feel that with the top on it's more of a van. However removing the top is such a faff as I've bolted it on for security more than anything, so I left it on to load up with my Dads shrubbery. It just meant we had to cut it into smaller pieces!

Tree chopped down and cut into small enough pieces to fit into the bed of the Chev-suzu (just) and it was off to the tip with it! One trip was all that was needed, and then a good hose down in the bed with the Jet-Wash! This is the benefit of having a pick up over an estate car or something, or even a van for that matter. You can just shovel whatever you fancy into the bed, and then hose it out when you're done!

I'm at a bit of a junction with this thing at the moment, although it's a great little truck, and drives good and I quite like driving it, and to my eyes I even think it looks pretty good even though the tailgate is dented. I feel like it's time for a change, and so although I'm not sure I'm ready to sell it, I have started qiuetly browsing, with the sale of the Explorer I don't want to be left 4x4 less!

Also it's getting near to MOT time, so maybe I'll see how it gets on with that, and depending on how well it goes through the MOT will depend on how soon I have a change, but for now, it's safe to say I'm enjoying driving my Chev-suzu! I'm starting to think that if it does really well with the MOT then perhaps the way forward is to track down a decnet tailgate, and perhaps even a new bed for it. That would really smarted up its appearances. But that really will depend on how cheaply I can get the parts for, and how much it's going to cost me to get a fresh MOT on it. Time will tell, but until then I'm just gonna keep on truckin'!
